What is a Computer?
A Computer is an electronic device that is designed to store and perform certain operations according to instructions given to it by Humans .The word computer is derived from the Latin term ‘computare’, this means to calculate or programmable machine. Computer can not do anything without a Program. It represents the decimal numbers through a string of binary digits. The Word 'Computer' usually refers to the Center Processor Unit plus Internal memory. Charles Babbage is the "Father" of the computer.
Thus Computer is an electronic device that takes raw data as input from the user and processes the data under the control set of instructions which is called as a program and gives the result as output and also saves the information for future use.
Types of computers
Computers can be classified based upon their size, storage capacity, performance and so on. There are mainly four basic types of Computers.
The four basic types of computers are:
- Supercomputer
- Mainframe Computer
- Minicomputer
- Microcomputer
